Each Miro Miro piece is carefully handcrafted using the highest quality materials. Any slight differences are not considered a fault, but rather a reflection of the pieces' handcrafted nature.

Gold Plated

To prolong the life of your gold plated pieces, avoid contact with chemicals such as perfumes, cosmetics, lotions, detergents and salt water. Due to the nature of these metals, over time tarnishing will occur. Factors such as the acidity of your skin, and how well you look after your jewellery will affect the rate of tarnishing.

We recommend the use of a soft cleaning cloth, not a polishing cloth as this will wear down/rub off the gold plating.

Gold plated jewellery should be removed prior to swimming, exercising and showering. Store your jewellery in their boxes, with each piece separated to prevent them from rubbing together and causing scratches.

Keep your gold plated jewellery out of direct sunlight as prolonged exposure will cause tarnishing.

Rhodium Plated Sterling Silver

All of Miro Miro's silver pieces are rhodium plated, which gives them that lustrous shine. The rhodium enhances the durability of the silver underneath as it protects it from scratches and tarnishing.

However, as it is only plating the rhodium will wear away over time. Similar to gold plating, to prolong its life we recommend avoiding contacting with chemicals such as perfumes, cosmetics, lotions, detergents and salt water.

We recommend the use of a soft cleaning cloth, not a polishing cloth as this will wear down/rub off the rhodium plating.

Rhodium plated jewellery should be removed prior to swimming, exercising and showering. Store your jewellery in their boxes, with each piece separated to prevent them from rubbing together and causing scratches.

Keep your rhodium plated jewellery out of direct sunlight as prolonged exposure will cause tarnishing.

Oxidised Sterling Silver

Oxidised silver is a surface finishing; only the top layer of the silver has turned the blackened colour. The blackened colour will evolve and change over time depending on how and how often it is worn. As the colour fades, the natural silver will shine through.

To prolong the life of the oxidised finish, avoid contact with chemicals such as perfumes, cosmetics, lotions, detergents and salt water. Oxidised silver jewellery should be removed prior to swimming, exercising, showering and sleeping.

Avoid aggressive polishing and rubbing when cleaning your oxidised silver pieces. If cleaning is absolutely necessary, use a soft cloth with minimal, gentle rubbing.

Store your oxidised silver jewellery in their boxes, with each piece separated to prevent them from rubbing together and wearing the blackened finish off.

Semi-precious Stones

We recommend using a soft cloth to clean around the stones, do not rub them. Contact with chemicals or liquids will damage them. Avoid contact with other jewellery as they may cause abrasion. Keep your stones out of direct sunlight as this will cause discolouration.

Freshwater Pearls

Your pearl jewellery should be the last piece you put on and the first piece you take off when you get home. This is because pearls are a soft gemstone, so they are easily damaged by chemicals and acids, such as perfume, cosmetics and perspiration.

Avoid wearing your pearls when exercising, showering, or to the pool or the beach. To clean, use a soft damp cloth to remove any surface dirt that may have accumulated. Before storing, use a microfibre cloth to completely dry your pearls. Store your pearls separated from other pieces of jewellery as they are easily scratched.
